Question Kings Park Homes

I'd like some advice about Kings Park. My wife and I are looking for a home. We live in Queens and are looking for something affordable, in a nice neighborhood with good schools taxes that won't kill us.

A friend recommended Kings Park. He said it was a safe area, with good schools and decent housing without the tax burden of other Long Island enclaves. So far, I've done a search on realtor.com, and ny friend is right about the taxes (average 4-5K/year for a 3 BR House vs. 10K in places like Wantagh, and Huntington).

If anyone has any input as to life in Kings Park (home prices, schools, community, etc.), I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Many young people are moving there. Very good area. A lot of Italians and Irish people. I have a friend who grew up there, her mom still lives there.

I would recommend it for sure.

I have always thought that Kings Park is an undiscovered Jewel. In parts, such as San Remo, you can actually get a home with a waterview for under 500K. Good schools, good people. If you would like to send me a Private Message with what you are looking for, I would be glad to get you some more info.
