Snapping turtle I scooped off of a road (Also Manorville). About a foot long and not happy!

Wow, very cool....are those peregrine falcons? Where was that taken?

I was up in Poughkeepsie a few days ago and saw a bird like that divebomb and scoop up a field mouse for dinner. It was awesome!

No, those are Ospreys, they're in the hawk family and they were taken right here on Long Island on 7/3.

You should see them hit the water and bring up a fish which is their source of food.

Those pine flies in Manorville must've been awful, I was swarmed by a bunch of them a couple of weeks ago at a pond near Riverhead (by Sarnoff preserve).

Default Sunday's storms from Roosevelt Field

Taken from the top of the parking garage by Nordstrom. Would you believe the mall security came and told me to stop taking pictures?

As long as I stayed on the trail I was OK. I walked to the waters edge in one spot and got my head attacked.
Worse than flies are the ticks. I was on my motorcycle when I took these pics and wearing vented, mesh pants. I actully got a tick on my left butt cheek! Sucked on my butt blood all night until I plucked him out in the morning. I have a wound now. Hope it's no big deal.

Go to a doctor. In about 4 to 6 weeks go again for bloodwork. It takes that amount of time for lyme, babesia and ehrlichia to show up. And no you don't want to ignore any of them. Better safe than sorry.
