I found another fake driving around South Valley Stream today: Mill Brook. Just south of the Green Acres Mall, and it's weird because there are official Nassau County signs marking it's existence in the neighborhood....which is usually only reserved for official cities/villages/hamlets. Maybe Mill Brook is the real deal now? The signs looked recent.

How about North Great River - technically Central Islip, but they have a sign and everything welcoming you to that area. Wife grew up there - it is CI, no question.

North Great River is a hamlet, South Setauket is a neighborhood in a hamlet - Centereach specifically. All of the hamlets that don't have post offices do have official county signs marking them (see: Lakeview, Garden City Park, Plainedge, Herricks, Searingtown, Manhasset Hills, etc. etc.)

Haha Star Trek is definitely not my cup of tea....I've always centered my nerd fascinations on much more convoluted crap that NO ONE finds interesting.

It's ICon -- not just Trekkies, all sorts of fantasy gaming, medieval stuff, Belly dancers....., role play games, sci fi, Pokemon, etc.
I haven't attended, but have dropped the carpool off -- what a bunch of freaks!

Barnum Woods was "created" in the early 19th century, East Meadow is the newer name. South Floral Park is a legit village.
