As much as I despise this store, particularly with the notoriety that it received with the killing of its employee a few years ago on Black Friday, I am passing along the news that it will be a 24-hour Super Walmart. There will be nothing like shopping for something for 98 cents at 2:00 a.m.
I'm surprised it was approved to be open 24 hrs. Not exactly a pristeen area and being close to Sunrise allows robbers to quickly escape. Not a great idea safety wise but then again, 7-11's are open 24 hrs. Also surprised the locals didn't put up a fight. Personally, I like their prices. Cosmetics, hair care products and OTC drugs are significantly less expensive versus other stores like Walgreens, RiteAid and CVS.
The store is still in the construction phase. I suspected it was going to be a Supercenter when I saw them building a second entrance, as only Supercenter Walmarts have them. I went to customer service and they confirmed that yes in fact, they would be a Super Wally World.
Again, I can't express how dissatisfied I am whenever I shop at this store, but perhaps it will redeem itself when it opens up for 24 hours. Maybe the benefit of shopping at 3 a.m. will outweigh the rudeness of the sales associates and the customers that frequent this store. But until then, I use this store as my last resort as I typically use the Westbury and Farmingdale locations.
Obviously being built NOT for Long Island but to attract shoppers from Brooklyn and Queens who live in the the NannyCity that doesnt permit such evil stores. So Walmart will now surround BloombergVille with stores and bring the business to the burbs.
