my feeling too. im tired of the tax payer footing the bill for folks who made bad choices.

why does my tax money i pay have to go to pay for those who chose to save money on insurance . especially when they knowingly live close to the water whether they have not to date had a flood or not.

you gamble you lose.

I kind of agree with everyone's comments. Having paid well over $2k/year for flood insurance, my walls and floor were not covered b/c they weren't sheetrock or carpet. It is also extremely specific as to what exactly is covered. Not only are my neighbors receiving more money from FEMA than I got from my flood insurance company for the same damage, they are receiving money for displacement when they never left their house. FEMA automatically denies me but pays outrageously mostly b/c a lot of my neighbors couldn't get an elevation certificate in order to get flood insurance so they didn't have a choice. With that said, $3k for displacement?? I just think certain people need the help b/c they can't get flood insurance but how do I get denied and get less?? Flood insurance is a rip off.

Many Sandy-damaged homes lacked flood insurance
Why have insurance? The Goverment will take care of you. No health insurance, No homeowners insurance, No flood insurance, No Mtg insurance, ect...... Goverment will help you.

Those who have all of the above get the run around and have to fight for the benefits in which they paid for.

When my dad gets going, this is one of his favorite rants, LOL. It starts off "WHY SHOULD ANYONE WORK?" Then you either make up an excuse to leave or you listen to his rant, LOL.

As the old saying goes, a person who is not a liberal when they are young has no heart, and a person who is not a conservative when they become old has no brain.

I'm all for pay to play, but when your clown neighbor doesn't buy flood insurance and it sits boarded up / condemned due to damage he can't pay to fix - what does that do for your property value?

My bozo neighbor without insurance got his $32k check on the spot within a few days from those awesome folks at fema. I'm beginning to believe I'm the clown because I have insurance and still haven't recieved any money yet. The rate things are going I'll be the one with the boarded up house.
