Hewlett has a large Jewish population too, but it appears (I repeat, it appears) to me that they are more of the secular variety, and less of the Orthodox. I see lots of the Orthodox in the Lawrence area walking up and down the streets every Saturday morning. It's like a different world.
Seems to be a significant Jewish population in Lido and Long Beach, at least compared with other places I've lived on Long Island, but I have no idea what the exact percentage is.
Franklin Square-West Hempstead is now the fastest growing Jewish community on Long Island representing all denominations and secular Jews. Most people think that Franklin Square isn't Jewish, but they forget the "Dogwood area". Now most of Franklin Square south of Hempstead Turnpike is furiously growing Jewish. There is even an "Eruv" there now!
