East Hills is a village (incorporated in 1931) partly in the central-east part of the Town of North Hempstead and partly in the northwest part of the Town of Oyster Bay, in the north-central part of Nassau County.
East Hills is one of those many villages and hamlets on Long Island where none of the places in the community have the village name in their mailing address: places in the Village of East Hills are either in the "Roslyn, NY 11576", the "Roslyn Heights, NY 11577", the "Greenvale, NY 11548" or the "Old Westbury, NY 11568" postal zone.
While most of the Village of East Hills (the 1,426 acres that are in the Town of North Hempstead) is in the Roslyn School District, the small part of the village that is in the Town of Oyster Bay (24 acres) is in the Jericho School District.
