You young'uns will be telling your kids about "2012-2013...first we had a Superstorm - they are so common now!!! And then a few days later a nor'easter....and then a few months later a blizzard! that was back in the days when people thought $15K a year was a lot for property taxes!" LOL
i was 16, my dad came back from work to find his car encased in a cube of ice at the RR station. a cop gave him a lift home. next day a tow truck freed the car from the ice. there was a similar blizzard that same month in 1979 too
I was in middle school. We walked to school (almost a mile) because they NEVER closed our schools. And weren't we surprised when we got there and it was closed. For a week! Lindenhurst. We stepped over 3 foot fences because the snow was piled so high.
