Congratulations on the sell. I'm hoping you find it a smooth transition. Be sure to check in and let us know how it's going.

Is this a retirement move?

We are moving to the Charleston area. Yes I found employment Charleston is really growing with a lot of opportunity's. From what we have found from our many visit's the people are very nice many are from all over country. The weather is really nice. I have been told most of the year has really nice weather but summers are hot and humid. Yes I will check in and write about our experiences. Thanks and good luck to everybody also moving.

Good luck to you and your family! We did a move from LI to PA 2 years ago. Well, we are back on LI. The Carolinas will most likely be the next and final move. What kind of job opportunities are down there? We have heard of people from LI moving down there but returning because of the job market.

Not missing the taxes, no loss of service or comfort. Just thinking of the long hrs working and commuting. Long Island has some of the most decent hard working people who sacrifice for their family's my hat is off to them. Charleston is a lovely city with lots too offer day and night. The beaches are beautiful and less crowded. The employment opportunities are here but not like NYC. Sure there are things I miss about NY/LI, but other states and city's have a lot too offer. I knew eating out and doing activities in NY/ LI were expensive but WOW really didn't realize how much. Yes you can get quality with lower cost. I miss the Daily News and the daily talk on the deli line haha. If you move or stay the sun will come out. SC has been good to us. The kids are enjoying school ,adapted well and making new friends. Don't believe the hype about the schools in the south. Some are good and some are bad , just like the north.

Long Island is the best place to live. I dont particularly care for the south but I hope you find what it is ur looking for. Most LI ppl who move down south end up coming back. Cheaper isnt better- remember that. Good luck tho!
