Yes, SCPD can write on State or MTA property. Whether it gets thrown out or not I can't tell you.

Thanks again for your help. At least now my son can pay the ticket and has learned not to let his inspection lapse. It doesn't pay for him to lose a day of school and work over the slight chance that the ticket could be tossed for not being filled out properly or jurisdiction issues.

Seems to me when I lived on the Island, you couldn't renew your registration without the inspection stamp on it. Certainly avoided situations such as this.

Registrations in NY are good for two years, inspection only one.

I guess the two year registrations make it easier to slip through the cracks?

I thought you said the cost of the ticket isn't written on it.
