Anyone has any suggestions or recommendations for a nice tearoom restaurant near Garden City for a group of girl friends to hang out together for some good tea and dessert as afternoon snack? The place needs to be nice, not just a functional one.

There is a tea place on 7th St. in Garden City - never been there, it just opened and I read about it last time I was there. I'm sure it's nice, I'm just not sure it's what you're looking for. It's called A New Leaf.

The Garden City Hotel holds English style afternoon tea on Saturdays in the restaurant 'Rein'. I think it runs from 2-5. I've never gone but was thinking of taking my wife soon.

Rein looks good and so does the tea place on 7th St. but I am going for Rein just because ambience looks great. And, I could n't see what kind of menu or seating the New Leaf had.

Thanks.

It was fabulous. The ambience is very high class and I was able to get the private room, which turned out perfect for us since there were kids and that way they did not disturb anyone outside our group. Ladies truly enjoyed the tea and snacks, which was served in silver plated cutlery.
