Not Huntington. No appropriate legal rentals in or alongside the village for you. (Of course there may be one or two exceptions as there always are in life). Huntington village does have many restaurants/bars and an easy commute to Melville, and if you ignore 25A has a certain charm, but price/availablilty/dog rules out that area for you IMHO.

Dirt being the operative word. Lots of it there in the streets (Sand)

Try Babylon Village. There's bound to be one or two complexes that are pet friendly, but you will most likely have to pay an additional fee. Plenty of bars and nightspots within walking distance and it's a short drive to Bay Shore/Islip/Fire Island Ferries.

I got some "young" friends who live in the apartments above the stores on main street in both Bay Shore and Babylon. They love it. Def. nice if you are into living somewhat urban on LI. Moving in was a b*tch tho.

The irony here is that the reason renters in their 20s flee is the same reason buyers in their 30s buy, "There's nothing going on out there" they say.

Exactly.....and we like it that way and we pay a premium for it in the shadow of Greatest City on Earth.

Coming soon a box of Huggies a Minivan and a Mortgage, we're always the last to know lol.
