Legislation (A.B. 3824) has been introduced in New York to require the issuance of only a single license plate for motor vehicles. The bill, favored by state hobbyists, requires that the single registration plate be attached on the front of tractors and on the rear of all other vehicles. Question? Who the heck are "state hobbyists" and why is currying favor with them important to NYS politicians?
Personally, I think we should have 2 license plates so the police and the red light cameras can catch us coming and going! We need that ticket revenue, right?

NY has had two plates forever except 1964 & 65 for the worlds fair, this was to entice people to visit the fair and purchase one of the unisphere collector plates.
My wife would be thrilled as she claims the front plate makes her 325xi look dumb. I agree....the women would all be checking me in out in my gray '96 Taurus wagon.
I see it done here already. People take the front one off and put it on the back of another car so they don't have to register that other car.
