I never heard of Jacqueline's. How long has it been in Babylon and where is it?
I used to go to Wilhelm's before Jacqueline's opened.

Hm... I know Jacqueline's has been there at least six years, possibly ten.

It's right on Montauk Hwy (27A), on the north side. Do you know where Gemelli's Restaurant is? (the restaurant, not the food shop). It's two storefronts east of Gemelli's. It's also just west of the Clam Bar (only a driveway separtes the Clam Bar from Jacqueline's).

I just realized that I'm an idiot.

I've twice referred to the "Clam Bar" in Babylon. That's because for many years that was what the restaurant at the corner of Montauk Highway and Cooper Street was called. I used to go there in the faroff days when I ate clams without feeling like I was probably ingesting some kind of local toxic waste.

Anyway, what USED TO be the Babylon Clam Bar back in the day, is now the Cooper Street Grill.

Sorry for any confusion. Senior moments.

"duh"

Riesterer's made my wedding cake - it was delicious

There's a new bakery in Rockville Centre on Sunrise Hwy just past Minuteman Press heading east called Roe's Dolce Bakery.
This place is awesome. They are open late too.

I forget the name of it. It's in a strip mall off sunrise highway in Bayshore a few doors down from BlueJays Pizza. There use to be a Bally's fitness club there too but not sure if thats still there. When I was a kid the Bally's was a King Kullen and there was a FotoMatt in the parking lot!!

Default Jacqueline's and Wilhelms Bakeries

If you knew of how dirty both these bakeries were you would never go there.... Jacquelines has mice running all over the place, and both places lack proper sanitation practices!! Wilhelms is listed on Suffolk Countys Health Dept website as having violations, including the owner cursing at the health dept official!!! Now isnt that professional??
Id head north to Alpine in Smithtown or Riesterer's in West Hempstead!!

Dortoni Bakery in Levittown... hands down.

Close runner up would be Black Forest in Lindenhurst, and Reisterer's in West Hempstead.

another vote for Alpine in Smithtown. We always use them for special parties and always hear "where did you buy this cake" ?
For crumb buns, however, try Hummel Hummel in East Northport. They are wonderful.
