Not questioning that -- it's just that there's a Cheesecake Factory at SmithHaven Mall and you've given me a good reason to go there!

Well, thank you all very much. This thread has made me so hungry that I went downstairs and ate 1/2 of a package of Godiva chocolate chip cookies .

Can't say if it's the absolute best, but I love the corn bread (Jewish corn bread), rye, and Miami rolls (onion pockets) at The Bakery in Plainview. Also, yummy cheese danish and assorted jelly cookies.

OK now I'm very hungry. Here is my top 3:

1) Diane's in Roslyn
2) Junda's Crust & Crumb in Jamesport (new but amazing)
3) Briamere's in Riverhead (?) (#2 in pies but I placed them #3 due to lack selection other than pies)

Default Roe's Casa Dolce in RVC

Hands down the best bakery on the planet is Roe's Casa Dolce! It is on Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre, not far from the corner of Long Beach Road. Here's the website: Home

A bakery...a normal one...is one of the things missing here in Las Vegas...

When you see a sign somewhere here in town with the words "bakery" it's ALWAYS a disappointment...no assortment of anything...pre-packaged cookies and cakes..maybe a few loaves of blah bread...

If someone wanted to make a fortune in Las Vegas...they could do it by opening a good old fashioned NY bakery...

I remember we used to go to Alpine Bake Shop in Smithtown, and Villa Bake Shop in Patchogue.

Haven't been to either since the early 80's...are they even still there?
