I've heard of those in VT as well. The grey winter skies take their toll I guess.

Thats a whole thread unto itself. There's maniacs driving all day long...when it gets lighter out and some of these idiots wake up we have to worry about them then yaking away on their cell phones and eating all at the same time as driving.
How bout' starting a thread concerning having to take our written and driving tests every few years? Then a special driving test over the age of.......?

I think that there should be special testing for people who drive SUVs or pickups, too. I see these tiny little women yakking on cell phones, navigating the elementary school parking lot in their Escalades and H2s while dropping off Junior. They forget that they aren't driving a compact car. SCARY!

That's who rammed into my car the other day. A woman talking on her cell phone and driving a huge tanky SUV. No apology. I guess I got in her way.

Default Daylight Saving

Several (I don't recall exactly) years ago we remained on Daylight Saving Time for the entire year. There was a big protest as parents of young children complained that their little ones were waiting for the bus in the "dark and cold".
As someone who has driven across this country 9 times, I can assure you that the sun does not set at uniform times within a given time zone. If you are on the western edge of a time zone, in the summer, the sun is still shining well past 9 PM. The amount of sunlight, or darkness will also be determined by whether you are in the northern part of this country, or the south.

I am not a fan of it either...just when you think you are adjusted to the time change, it's time to set the clock ahead an hour...it's a vicious cycle...but we all get through it year after year... 3-9-2008 can't come fast enough

Is that when it is? That is earlier than usual. I guess that they are at least trying to shorten the dark days.

Thanks for the link. Usually it's April, isn't it?
I'm glad it's earlier but that first week is like having jetlag.
