Considering a move to Eaton's Neck. Would love to hear from any Eaton's Neck residents that can give me some advice. Is any part of the neck that is better in terms of the elements, rain, drainage, beach traffic, etc? Did you have any flooding issues during Sandy or Irene (aside from Asharoken Road)? Do a lot of long islanders visit the town beach, or is it mostly locals? How is the snow removal? Thanks for any advice you can give! Much appreciated - - it's a beautiful spot!

Eaton's Neck is a lovely place, but you need to be willing to be somewhat removed from the main land. It has no stores of it's own, so you will have to go into Northport for everything. The only road in and out is Asharoken Avenue, which will flood during big storms. Also, Asharoken has it's own police force which WILL give you a ticket if you travel even slightly above the 30 mph speed limit. However, if you are willing to put up with the incomvenience, it is a very nice community.

Thanks for the feedback ! Sounds just like what I need! A quiet place. Northport school district? Benefits on tax rates due to the National Grid plant? How about winters? Are the streets adequately plowed?

Yes. Northport Schools. Don't count on the tax benefits from the National Grid plant. They are currently challenging their assessment and if they are successful, property taxes could increase dramatically. Town of Huntington plows the roads. I don't think Eaton's neck gets and better or worse service in that area then the rest of the town.
