They are making more than last year but since the average salary for teachers is hovering somewhere around 70K for Sachem (as a lot of the older ones have retired) I'm not complaining that much.

Not true. The lowest salary on their contract is $49000. And the average compensation for all employees is ~ $90k. If you only averaged teacher's salaries it is closer to $100k.

I removed the ones retiring and the ones getting laid off from the equation and recalculated. I'm working off the actual budget numbers for the district

Then i read topics on here on how $200K does not get you far on L.I.
So, cpl making 90K each = 180K (for a masters degree).
