I'm a big fan of Whistle Stop Bakery in Oceanside.

We like Polito bakery in new Hyde park. Not a fancy place. They have plain and swirl. Also, Cheesecake Factory as mentioned above.

Second this! I grew up in Oceanside and this was our go-to place. Never been disappointed and its not overly sweet either. I always thought it was interesting that it was in the industrial part of town, its kind of hidden away.

the whistle stop was nothing special maybe because I am from Brooklyn and love Juniors..The crumb business on top of the cheesecake is not needed and doesnt add anything to the cake..keep it simple..

The cheesecake at Houlihan's in Westbury is very good. Don't know if you can buy a whole cake though.
