Default Hey Suffolk County....Who are you voting for?

Unless somteting drastically changes.

Levy/DiCarlo/Rouse/Bonner/Yes on 3

IMHO the Dems in Brookaven have done a crap job on taxes and dealing with illegal housing and overdevelopment.

Remember...principals before party.

If you dont get out and vote...you reliquish your right to complain.

I am shocked by how many Dems are in office. I always thought this was Republican land. Oh well, some more years of ****, escalting taxes, etc. will teach people I suppose.

I sincerely hope LI doesn't become another NYC.

Gotta tip your hat to Levy though considering the Republicans would even run against him.

As a survivor of Crookhaven..Im not surprised at all.

I think anyone who just votes the line at the local level is taking the short view.

Principals before parties.

Hey there GCGuy,
Many long-time Long Islanders will tell you it has been Republican on balance for 99.9% of their time here on the island. The Democratic swing is very new relatively speaking, and a response to the decades of corruption in areas like Crookhaven.

To Clamboy's point, I believe Levy is more Republican than Democrat when it comes to the party perception of spending. That is why he is un-opposed. He is cheap, and I love him for it....he is not perfect on everything, but he is a penny-pincher.

Also, I am not too sure that many vote principals before parties...I can't stand blind lever flippers who only chose their affiliated party, even if the same party has been raking them over the coals for years. I cross the aisle all the time, especially given the difference between democrats and republicans is about whisker thin at this point.

Now what was that rule, never discuss religion, politics...hmmmmm

Republican, but its always had a Rockefeller Republican streak. As the national Republican Party became more and more conservative and the local Republicans followed them down that road LI became more and more Democratic. Years of GOP corruption in Brookhaven & Islip didn't exactly help the GOP either.

Has that ever happened before in anyone's memory?

I always thought only Millionaires and Morons voted Republican.

Considering its the party of Bad Ideas....you might be the first Republican scholar Ive encountered on LI JrProf.
(You must come from Money )

I guess somehow that may be better than voting for the party of No Ideas.

Local Dems suck with the exception of Levy.
I love that cheap bastard.

I guess I'll be a Moron this election.
Out of protest I may just vote for Levy on the Republican line.

Way to go Suffolk Dems.
Meet the new boss...same as the old boss.

I've lived in Chicago and Florida. Chicago had high taxes and a strong middle class. Florida had no taxes and almost no middle class. If I can do anything about it, this place won't turn into another "we hate taxes" place to live. I'm voting straight Dem!
