You all are overlooking the most obvious benefit in the original post. With the plates being from Alaska, you are ahead in the game of "Counting out of state license plates" when you get really, really, really, really bored.
My landscaper Jose Contrares Rodriguez Garcia's trailer has North Carolina plates.
My neighbors are washing their cars, which are registered in Alaska, with water from their pool and the water is going down the road. Also their cars are rusty. In addition they just put up a sign on their door saying its protected by ADT, but I don't think they really have an alarm system. And they're smoking a cigar on their property. I also don't think they've showered in a week.

Don't forget to lecture them on their poor dietary choices, they're probably the type of people who eat at fast food joints or chain restaurants.
