A few months back when I was at CV they told me they are no longer giving out the SA DVR boxes, you can only get the Samsung boxes. I like the new boxes better, but not for DVR service. The physical DVR is far better.

Try to bite my tongue when see the many CV vs. FIOS threads. Not true what above poster said as we just were given a SA box (our box has been replaced several times past few years btw).

We have had trouble with CV since moved to place 5 yrs ago. Now that we are done with post Sandy..electric might actually stay on we are switching to FIOS next week. Hopefully will be able to finish installation and say bye to CV forever. Had appt. with FIOS last week but power went out and could not complete.

Just last night again had to re-boot ......took 2 hours to finally get it back up and running. Their billing practices is horrible. Would take long time to explain what they did to us when it came to... Billing...appointments...credits for problems. Double billed and always ended up behind 1 month even though pay on time every month..they never fixed billing issue since asked for 1 month credit after Sandy!! Gave partial credit..but never quite added up and total not consistent every month. Make it hard to follow at all.

Filed complaint.

Also the big thing is just last week when tech came and told him of problems have had with signal. Like always they said signal to house is fine!

But get this this time the guy said even though the signal is fine to property it splits into sort of like a Y off to the left for us and right for neighbor..same address same property. Meaning they were getting most of the signal and we were getting very little!!

That is horrible way to do business! I always questioned them as neighbor on same property never seemed to have same problem we have!! Why the **** did it take 5 yrs for someone to finally say that is the problem !!

You'll be so much happier with FiOs. It's amazing Cablevision is still in business with their horrible service.
