So, why respond to a thread if you don't like it? There are threads that I am not interested in and I just pass on them. If you get so stressed out by sifted through all the garbage I would probably try and eliminate that stress from my life. It's not good for the heart.
Enjoy the beautiful day!!
When I see garbage on the sidewalk I go out of my way to pick it up. Same principle here. Doesn't cause me stress. Morons are a part of life. I find it funny when dweebs always come back to that "you should avoid it if it bothers you" ploy as though they hold some power. No, it's just another annoyance and a decent forum turned to crap. Sad, really, not stressful.
So why start a thread if you don't like the forum?
I don't dislike this forum. Frankly, I think is has a lot of useful information. That is the main reason for me joining. I live on Long Island and I love living hear. Where else do you have access to NYC, proximity to beaches, north fork, montauk, shopping, restaurants and outdoors. Long Island has a lot to offer. The problems that people have with Long Island have always been here. They didn't just pop up. You should be angry with and fight how things are run, but don't let that run your life. There are too many great things.

Exactly.
It doesn't have to "run your life" but it takes vigilance and purpose. It's not for wimps. Those "great things" disappear or become " Moderator cut: language removed" things if not protected.

Wait, people are surprised that this is the rudest forum on CD? This forum is a reflection of the people that live on LI, what do people expect?
Yawn. Same old dumb generalization. Plenty of great people on LI. Besides, I don't find the rude ones to be the problem. It's the boring ones with nothing to contribute...like your post for example.

That is fine, all I'm saying is spend some time looking at the other forums. There aren't any that have brawls between people who left and people who stayed, and just less overall rancor.

Probably true. I don't read the others in depth enough to say but it is NY and LI is a bit of a smarmy snot factory so I don't disagree. Still, lots of great people here. Just like everywhere.

I find most of the strife is from people who come back trying to pump up whatever backwater hellhole they relocated to, using this forum to help fool themselves into believing their pit of despair is somehow superior to LI.
Also, Internet Trolls.
