When will Long Islander's learn, it never get's any better. There are no quality of service initiatives on the LIRR or the subway. Most of the time, management is lucky enough if the rank and file just shows up for work. The bottom line, so to speak, is there is no accountability... at any level. Senior management is politically appointed and only cares about their next well-paid gig. Most of management doesn't even have expertise in public transportation, they're appointed by the governor.
This year the MTA is running a $114mm surplus, but by 2015, the MTA will insure a budget shortfall will require another aggressive fare increase across the board.
perhaps wishful thinking on my part...I was hoping it gets better after the new east side tunnels into GCT. Delays should be less in theory
I do agree MTA is one giant mess. The giant shortfall is the pension and medical premium liability. The corruption and financial oversight is also a major contributor to MTA's financial debacle.
Will you be posting on the days to let us know that nothing happened?
Are you really going to defend or argue in favor of the LIRR? Please save yourself the pity. Unless you seem to be employed or have a family member employed by them. Then that would make more sense. Let me give it to you straight: my own father works for the LIRR. He's been with them for 20 years. Will receive a sizable pension when he retires. My uncle worked for the LIRR for 35 years. He lives very well off disability and the pension. Even with all the said, I can give 52 reasons why they Moderator cut: language removed
me over every single week. And given my background, one would think that I would be one of the those pitiful apologists for the LIRR. A Helena Thompson crony. But despite all that, I speak the truth. Their on time analytics are total Moderator cut: language
and these occurrences and incidents happen more frequently. Anyone that challenges that statement must be on the payroll.
