I am amused by the prevalence of the moustache on Long Island.

They seem to be concentrated on the south shore of Nassau but they are certainly prevalent on "middle island". Save for the interior portions of Florida, no other land I have visited has as many of these atrocities present. Do the men that brandish these vestiges from the '70's not realize that they look like total tools? What are the opinions of the CD LI folk?

My uncle has one for his entire adult life. I asked him once why he has a 'stash and he got a little offended, said its part of his face like your nose or eyes. His a very nice looking man too so I don't get it.

Well, I would rather see them on the men than the women!

Funny, I do not think of LI as the home of bushy moustaches, but rather the home of goatees. I rarely see them anywhere else. Seems like 10% of the (thankfully male) population on LI has one.

Most of us have older family men with the 'stache. It's part of the LI fabric.

It's gross and creepy looking! There was a guy behind me in traffic with the big bushy moustache and aviator sunglasses on the other day. (got a look at him when we were stopped at a red light). I go to TD Bank and while I'm waiting endlessly on line, I turn around and glance at the lobby. Same guy at the ATM machine. CREEPY.

I hated that look in the 1970s. In today's world, it just looks disgusting.

Do these guys actually think they look good?!?!!

I think mustaches are a personal choice regardless of the era. But I have to laugh when I see someone who still has a mullet haircut here on Long Island.

I think it's the complement to the female 80's-perm. Sometimes people don't just bother changing their style with the times.

You haven't travelled abroad much! There very popular in certain countries. Sometimes for the women too.
