We are going to be painting some of the rooms in the house.

Can anyone recommend someone to help us select wall colors and wall paper?

We're not looking for a high priced decorator - we just need help choosing colors - I will be doing the painting myself.

Thanks

Terrible to say, but I loved the Benjamin Moore store in Seaford.

I went to other places, and it was all up to me. Then I went to the paint store in Seaford, and they had people there just to help you pick colors. I desperately needed advice..especially when it was the exterior shutters, door, etc on the house.

I know you probably didn't want a paint store recommendation, but I thought I would put that idea out there....

My exact thoughts. "We" go to the local Benjamin Moore dealer who also sells wallpaper. Their staff is great in making recommendations to my wife. I'd be happy painting everything Benjamin Moore Super White but that never happens.

Take pictures of the furnishings in the room including rugs and curtains and think about what makes you happy like the cool colors or earthy colors or warm colors. When you go bring the pictures with you and that will give them an idea of what colors to try to pick up.

Actually, a paint store recommendation is a great idea - Thank You!

Is there anyone in particular at the Seaford store I should ask for? I am terrible with picking colors.

Thanks again.

Picking up a few home magazines at the drugstore or going on home magazine websites can be a big help if you're having trouble visualizing color. I found marthastewartliving, designsponge, HGTV and BHG websites very helpful. If there are pics you like, you can print/cut them out and bring them with you as a reference.
