Having searched for homes in several neighborhoods I've come to realize the better school districts all seem to be approaching a Chinatown-ization to the point many of them now teach Chinese as a second language.

I met a Korean homeowner in Plainview who was talking about not wanting her kids to learn chinese because the language is "ugly". And come to think of it, I would rather my kids learn Latin, or Spanish, heck even Aramaic or Sanskrit.

Are there any areas in Long Island with good schools that have a good racial mix? The stats are not very useful because if say Syosset shows a 25% asian population, the entirety could be Chinese who stress bookishness over extracurriculars and well-roundedness and I'd like to see a good mix of south asians i.e. Indian, Paki, Bangladeshis as well.

Queens would be better.

Long Island prefers a lack of diversity.

Diversity increases the crime rate.

Chinese language comes in MANY dialects. So that Korean owner is clueless...maybe even anti-Chinese

As with a decent amount of immigrants.....most 1st generation Asians which includes Chinese, Koreans, Indians, etc....stress "bookishness" as you call it. Also, within every group, there are subgroups with some being very different...sort of saying that all Jewish people are the same. I would gather your inquiry is almost borderline racist.

and Asians beat their children if they dont do well in school.

This is known by every teacher who has asian students. The teachers will not make a big deal about it because its a lot easier to teach obedient asian students.

Chinese is good for doing business. People in college took Mandarin for that reason. It's not just town-specific anyway.

When I was in HS we only had French and Spanish. I took French to be different and it's completely useless to me. I should've at least done some Spanish. If you have to learn a 2nd language, make it worthwhile.

So uninformed. Asians beat their kids regardless. At least the non-americanized ones do.

"Diversity increases the crime rate"?

Great Neck South HS must be a ghetto school then. 45% Asian. I wonder what their SAT scores, graduation rates and college enrollment rates are like? Must be pretty horrible.

In NYC, asians have a lower rate of commiting crimes than their percentage representation in the population versus all other groups. Whites are 33% of the population and 22% of the arrestees. Asians are 12.9% of the population but only 3.9% of the arrestees. If you populated LI with all asians, stats. suggest the crime rate would fall.

As you were.

crime rates do not pertain to asians. They dont commit street crime. They belong to asian gangs but live in peace in their communities.

You really need to understand these things.
