No they do NOT block traffic. They leave enough room on one side for cars to pass by which can cause miscommunication. If you inadvertedly stop, cars behind you either tailend you or rightfully get annoyed and honk at you. This is not a schoolbus with a stop sign flipping out of its side.
If the driver in the OP is not charged then it means she was following traffic rules.
.. I'm not saying slam on the brakes and stay at a standstill until they move. I'm saying stop, get a good look at what is in front of them, then go. It's simply common sense.
Your reading comprehension is terrible. I never said anything against the sanmen other than they run around like crazy to finish their routes.
I know many sanmen...all have second jobs. Perhaps you should get out and meet people before posting on CD and you would know the facts.
Saying they work only 3 hours a shift isnt saying anything negative? Even if what you say is true about them working second jobs show some respect, something you have obv never learned in your life.
I would repeat my comments to anyone. They are simply truthful observations.
I already pointed out at least for Town of Hempstead that is incorrect. The rush is because routes have been lengthened, workers cut, OT reduced and GPS installed in trucks to monitor route times and performance. These guys are hightailing it to get done on time. If they have a 2nd job it's after a full day so it's a moot point. Got this from my neighbor the foreman who is mad that we tip them too much at xmas and he doesn't get one. I told him if he takes my stuff to the dump on his lunch break I'll tip him. I already give him tons of beer. The route guys take all my oversized crap w a tip of the hat and a have a nice day. Can't beat that. Still, they DO run across the streets like maniacs and I'm shocked these accidents don't happen much more, especially in glare or bad weather.
Good for the Town of Hempstead finally getting some management controls. TOB still has a work to completion contract and it should be scrapped. No one should be earning full time wages for working half a day.

You're not supposed to stop out of consideration for the moving cars behind you.

Uh..........
what?
The cars behind you are supposed to be watching the road in front of them.
