Contractor told me this morning 3 bedrooms would be painted, got home from work and nothing was done but a little priming on the ceiling. This was the straw that broke the camels back, no more mister nice guy!

Here are pics of what they did to my floors.....

obviously, you have an awful contractor.

3 weeks? Possible your contractor is juggling multiple jobs at once....then is overwhelmed. that is a pet peeve of mines

OMG, your floors!!! I know you're getting new carpet, but as a wood floor lover, those photos make me cringe. Shame on him and his workers!

Totally unacceptable.

I don't take any referrals for service people unless I know the homeowner is meticulous. They should be using drop cloths!

You needed to call up his references (should have a lot if they are good) and ask about their experience with the contractor. This is the only true way to know what to expect. Our contractor's guys put down tarps and plywood on top of the existing carpet before doing any drywall work. They were very good about that even though there was a possibility we would've gotten rid of it anyway (the carpet was practically new from the prev owner).

We walked away from guys who couldn't produce extensive references or couldn't produce a license. If you're spending thousands, it is for your own good to do some legwork. You could also use homeadvisor (free) or angie's list to find reputable guys.

Time is money for these contractors - if they could get out in the time they promised you, they would. It's basically just incompetence (not that you don't know this by now).

My wife and I had to get on our hands and knees and scrape and chisel the spackle off. Then you have to sweep and then you have to mop.

Not sure how this all can be done in 15 minutes, care to share?

1. They should have done it.
2. Put a little effort in those rooms are tiny.

Did you divide a room? What kind of crap job is that around the baseboard? What sort of hacks did this? Between that and the floor, this is a disaster and completely unprofessional.
