My neighbor calls me last night and said she saw a fox on my front lawn, when I went out to look it was gone. Has anyone else seen foxes in their area, specifically Suffolk? I have seen deer in my neighborhood, possum and raccoons, but never a fox. I have a friend who lives 15 minutes east of riverhead and he sees foxes all of the time. Curious as to why a fox would be over here mid Suffolk. Maybe they are coming from Hecksher Park?
I've seen one in Islip, around the 111 area. Maybe they're coming from Brookwood or the nature center off of St. Mark's? Heckscher seems like sort of a long walk for them.
Also, I know there are foxes at the Academy of St. Joseph campus in Brentwood.
Live in suffolk - south shore and he have foxes ALL the time. They are walking the streets, yards etc. even during the middle of the day. Last Sunday had to stop my daughters soccer game as a fox came prancing along right through the middle of the field.
Fox (four legged) are all over south of Montauk Hwy in Islip,East Islip,Oakdale area. Last week when I got off Wolf Hill Rd in Melville early in a.m. on way to work one was crossing street into Farrell Park.
