We are finishing our basement soon and are wondering if we need an architect to design the layout. I want to create a laundry room, wet bar and and entertainment area and closets. I want to reroute the HVAC ducts to the side of the walls to create more headroom. I assume I need an architect to help with the planning? An architect that knows the ins and outs of the building dept in the town of North Hempstead. Please advice.

Thanks.

Base Flood Elevation. The base BFE can be obtained by calling the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) flood plane administrator for NY or LI. This information can be gathered by going to the FEMA site or calling the government numbers in the blue section of your telephone directory.
