I have ADT. The pricing varies depending upon what you need. They give you a starter price which includes a door or two, some windows and keypad. Then you start adding up windows, motion detectors, glass smash sensors, wireless cell back up, heat sensors and KABOOM! the package is a few grand.

I am paying $140 per quarter.

Gee, I do not have any system at all. I never even thought about it.

My cousin is even worse. She has a gorgeous home in Lloyd Harbor (eight acres) and she leaves it UNLOCKED when she goes to Europe even.

Nothing has ever happened.

I guess it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it, but I wouldn't go all out with a whole bunch of extras and pay a fortune for an alarm.

Although I do recommend them for the elderly who live alone.

I had my door and a few windows alarmed for a year when I bought my first home.

Now, I have a German Shepherd...*smile*

I do have censored lights in the driveway and backyard.

A few of my neighbors have those alarm lawn signs and they don't even have the alarms.

I believe that geography/topography and having their own PD has a lot to do with Lloyd Harbor residents being able to leave their doors open.

The system at my home is primarily for my garage as we collect antique cars.

Antique cars. How nice. I wonder if I have ever seen you driving around. I always notice them.

We do the St James, Setauket & Port Jeff Parades...once or twice one in East Northport (around the Cow Harbor run).
