Go to Homeowners Against Deficient Dwellings and Homeowners For Better Building to get information. You can also post complaints there. These are 2 national grassroots organizations. No cost involved. All are volunteers who have been rippedoff off as you have been.
Also, check BBB and find out how much your small claims court will allow you. In Texas it just went up from $5,000 to $10,000.
Check your state licensing board and
of course get your local news media out so they can warn people.
Hope this helps and if you need more info you can pm me.

Unfortunately, this forum is not the right place for consumer complaints. However, if someone ask 'need a contractor recommendation' you can certainly advise against using them without going into the details. You certainly can send the person a DM if they want more information regarding the contractor.
Hopefully you will get some help if you contact the info from Scammed1

if its suffolk county make sure you place a complaint with consumer affairs, they will hunt him down until he resolves your issues or they'll fine him.

I hope you'll be able to get your money back. Contractors, mechanics, plumbers, electricians... you have to watch out for ALL of them. They know they have you, so they try to cheat and manipulate you as much as they can.
