Can't speak to roof rakes, but judging by my recent search, no one has rock salt.

We actually saw rock salt (or the pellets) in John's Farms in Plainview. We bought 3 bags weeks ago at Home Depot and bags of sand because the rock salt isn't safe for the brick steps. There's also bags in the pet supply stores--the type that's pet safe. I'd get that as a last resort.

Most of this snow will melt over the weekend but I heard we're getting more next week.

i saw someone coming out of the family dollar store in the filetto's/IGA shopping center in east northport with some bags this AM.

Gotcha. Not sure about you but my roof is like 90% clear of snow.

Hit up your local garden nurseries. They often have a supply of salt and people almost never seem to go there to get any.
