Man, I get annoyed when they don't punch my ticket. I'll even try to flash it when they're just going down the aisle for something else if nobody's punched it yet just so I can feel the satisfaction of a proper fare paid. I'm not kidding.
But we really should be moving toward a MetroCard for the LIRR by now. Zone payment structure we have now, but you swipe in at either the station or at the doors to the train.
Anyway, the Port Washington Branch where Great Neck Station is located is one of if not the best line in the system. I would feel lucky to be using it if I had a job in the city, that's why houses along it are in such high demand.

haha, I know that feeling. The collect ticket process seems more lax than say 10 or 20 yrs ago.
Ticket collecting is seriously an antiquated system. They should move to a turnstile system....and fine fare evaders like $1000
back to the Great Neck situation. I like the houses of Kings Point and location is also pretty good.
However, I have a question that I need someone from Great Neck to clarify - are more Chinese/Asian people going to the North schools or is the increase all for South?
