Searched the forum but didn't see anything; it's that time of year again to break out the lawn mower. I was planning on doing the routine maintenance on my own but noticed a crack that leaks oil when the mower is on. Does anyone know of a repair shop that offers pick-up/drop-off service? Preferably in Huntington Station/East Northport/Commack area.
Most people on CD will likely scoff at this, but I found a guy, Dave I think was his name, two years ago on Craigslist who is super handy on outdoor power equipment. Mower, snow blower, that kind of stuff. He lives in Shirley, and his backyard looks like a junkyard.
Super nice guy.
I bought a mower and string trimmer from him for $70 + a broken string trimmer, and they both run beautifully. I even mowed my lawn for this first time this season, and all I had to do was put in fresh gas. I recommend you take a look on CL for his contact info.
If you took your mower to him, for something like $20 he would fix it or trade it for a like model that works. He's that kind of guy.
OMG Go to my buddie Nick in East northport. He is between Larkfield and Wren on Bellerose ave. He is a good good guy ; honestly. We had a business and he always did our trucks/equipment but only does equipment now.
Definitely on Bellerose, nearer to Larkfield. Not just saying it, but he did work for us for over 20 years and he is a really good guy.
I have absolutely no alterior motive, but want to throw the business his way.
Thanks for the replies! Buddy Nick in East Northport sounds good. Thanks for the CL reference as well. And of course, if the job is too big we'll just buy a new one but the darn thing is only two years old (and just out of warranty window ugggh).
