What's with the azaleas and butterfly bushes this spring? :-(

Hydrangeas took a beating, had to prune lots of dead stems. Ilex had many branches snap from the weight of snow and ice. Skip and cherry laurels all have a lot of winter burn but are blooming nicely. Azaleas are doing fine too.

They are blooming right now, and are looking lovely, a month too late!!! My hydrangeas are dead and have to grow from the root this year.
