The FIL says that bamboo is a nuisance plant. I believe Town of Hempstead is trying to regulate the use of bamboo.

Default Invasive Bamboo

The members of the Town board seem to be short sighted or possibly have Bamboo on their property that they don't want to deal with.

Bamboo is very invasive, fast growing and rugged, you can see many places on Long Island where it has escaped it's original planted area.
We keep destroying Long Island's natural areas...........not a good thing.
