First off, US drinking culture is nothing compared to Europe. The British Isles in particular, if you've never been there, you have no idea how bad it is. It's far, far worse than here. Get on a double decker bus at midnight on Friday and it's a complete disaster. All these young women who went to work prim and proper in cute little dresses in the morning are now falling over, cursing, etc.
A step down from that but still worse than the US, Scandanavian countries. People get fallen down intoxicated more often.
In comparison to those places, LI drinking culture is tame. NYC drinking culture is incredibly tame compared to London.
