Im amazed by some of the suggestions for bagels. You can tell who knows true NY bagels. A&S is very good, but out of the way. Op...go to bagel patch in n patchogue....its a hole in the wall...across street from 112 nissan. True boiled, then baked bagels!

I'm amazed at some of the responses. You can tell who knows Long Island geography. OP asked for a bagel place close to LGA off the NSP or LIE. You're about 30-40 miles off course. Thanks for playing and knocking people down for their opinion.

The op lives 10 or 15 mins north...they could swing down before. Douche
My kid travels all the time, both through JFK and LGA and always brings a bunch of bagels and pita bread. I've traveled out of town to visit a friend who insists that I bring a chocolate babka with me. No problem. However, the humus and the cream cheese was confiscated. And therefore, some people were disappointed that they couldn't have their Temptee cream cheese.

But that's not what the OP asked. While I won't speak for the OP, I know I wouldn't want to go 1/2 hour out of my way to get bagels when I'm headed to the airport. Also thanks for the insult and insulting everyone's taste in bagels. I guess you have a degree in bagel delicacies and anyone who thinks differently is beneath you. Stay classy Stony Brook.

Once you're in Queens, pretty much any bagel shop is good. My favorite is Oasis Bagel on the eastbound side of the L.I.E. and 183rd St. Not sure if it's out of the way for you though.
Another good one is Baker's Dozen in Kew Gardens near the LIRR. OBH can just exit the GCP at Union Turnpike.

Those bagels are OK but I lived in KG walking distance from that place and always drove to Utopia.
