I'm interested in New Hyde Park Village area. Please help me with the following.

What is the cost of home insurance?
What factors do I need to know, any hidden/addl fees?
Which carrier is better?

I appreciate your help.

Really impossible to answer because it hinges on the size of the house, construction of home, location to a fire hydrant, and value of the home. Of course there is also the decision to go with full replacement value. In your case flooding is not an issue but it can factor in the numbers. There are also riders for jewelry, computers etc.

Check a few different carrier for quotes not a one size fits all decision.

that is correct. Distance to water and Insurance score also plays a factor along with any losses that you have had in any previous residence. I am an agent and there are also tons of optional coverages that you can add to a Homeowners policy (water backup, off premises theft, id fraud expense, etc).

To name a few A rated (AM Best) carriers in Nassau County competitive in your area are Utica National, Mercury Insurance Group, Sterling Insurance Co.
