another factor re: property taxes, if your household income is below $75K (I think that's the threshold), you could be eligible for a discount on your property taxes.

Why would you ask about a specific property now if you won't be considering purchasing for 2 years? So many things can change between now and then, rendering the information you've obtained obsolete.

never mind. I just looked it up and you have to be a senior or with disabilities to qualify - it's also less than $75K income.

a friend of my mom falls under the criteria above, that's how I found out about it to begin with. there is more info here:
