Don't assume that I'm stupid
First, I admit that I'm assuming he's a drug dealer. So, I'm not going to insist that I have proof. However, how far would you take your weak guesses if at one point a truck pulled up with three people in it, a truck you'd never seen around the neighborhood before, and 3 twenty-something guys got out arguing about who was going to buy? Maybe they were talking about a bulk order of yarn, I'm mean, who knows?
Then, the kid came out of the house with a cigar box - the one he always uses. Maybe he's selling Cubans, or marbles?

I know I know...I was trying to be funny and logical but I can just imagine how upsetting it must be --especially right across the street. I hope it either turns out not to be true or that they do get him for doing illegal dealing. You seem like a very nice lady and I wish you the best*

He appears to be gone. We never saw him move out, but he doesn't seem to be around. I hope it isn't a vacation. If so, he'll be back, and I'll be back on the phone with the 2nd precinct.

Im glad that you sorted about the problem Newbie. I live in West Islip and we also have very similar situations all over my community, including in my neighborhood but I long ago gave up on SCPD ever doing anything in this community. They barely even have a patrol presence here. We get more coverage from state troopers and Suffolk County Sheriff's deputies just driving through then we get from the SCPD which is our primary agency.
I also have tons of stories about drugs from my high school days; it was apparently very bad before I advanced to HS (2002) and while I was there it was pretty bad in my opinion. I knew some kids who were arrested at least twice a year and get off on nothing more then probation Talk about an effective justice system .....
Do the State Police and Suffolk County Sheriff's Office have specialized narcotics units? I know that Suffolk County Sheriff's deputies can make traffic stops and respond to 911 calls but do they have detectives and all the specialized units? I know that the State Police on Long Island is mainly concerned with highway patrol on the state parkways but do they handle anything off of the parkways here?

I'm in east islip and have similar problems with SCPD. Loud parties and the like. They just cruise by, even after multiple calls. Same night I went to 7-11 and sure enough SC's finest getting coffee. Went to the precienct to complain and got the yeah were very busy noise complaints don't rate. I think they have it in their contracts that they don't have to exit the cruiser unless it's to give a taxpayer a ticket.

I've called SCPD twice on noise complaints, and the noise stopped. Whether it was them coming by or the people just stopping, I don't know.
Drug activity is increasing on LI, all over. I live near Hidden Pond Park in Islip, and there is heavy drug activity going on there...lots of cars coming and going, kids going in and out of the woods. They meet up with drug dealers who are playing handball and go into the woods to make deals. I let SCPD know about it, and there was a Public Safety guy in the park for about a week, but now he's gone and all the thugs and their trashy girlfriends are back. I couldn't believe when I saw a woman drop 3 girls off to hang out there who looked to be about 16 years old. I've seen people nodding off in cars and such. Prescription painkiller abuse is RAMPANT. Check your kids belongings for this stuff. It often leads to heroin abuse as it's a cheaper, quicker version of the same high.
