I got a speeding ticket on my way back home from Jones Beach, it was not my day! I was tired plus my son was little sick from the heat. So I wasn't paying attention (usually I have a good eye for high way police) by the time I saw the police I looked at my speedometer it was just below 70 and it was dropping, I didn't realize I was that fast but just followed the traffic (first time I went there and usually on LIE 70s is a good speed). cop caught me 5 min after that when I thought I woulda been safe
what should I do to minimize the impact of the ticket? in terms of fine, point, driving record, insurance cost down the road....god that's too much for me to mention, this is the first time I got pulled over, I got nothing on my driving record. I called Nassau County Court, they said ticket is not in the System???!!! What that supposed to mean? the ticket doesn't even exist? haha I know I am being too optimistic, should I still go?oh, one more important thing, the officer put 9/1/14 on my ticket, which is Labor Day? Why he want me to go there on Labor Day when no one would be there?
any advice is appreciated since it's first time i got traffic ticket, never been to the court before. thanks.
Always go and plea it down. Im assuming you were on the Wantagh or Meadowbook, if it was a State Trooper?
