We are planning on purchasing a new home in Syosset. We both work in Grand Central Midtown Manhattan. Can anyone give us pointers on parking and what kind of commute time we are looking at ? Whats the best route ? Syosset station or drive to Hicksville ? How is parking ?

I think this question should have been written in Mandarian. I dont think English is spoken in Syosset.
All kidding aside, the Syoset train is not bad at all. The only issue is parking is tight so if you go after 7:30 hard to find a spot. And if you are staying out late less trains than Hicksville late at night.

Is there really that many Chinese moving to Syosset ? Not that I care or mind. Syosset seemed very diverse the many time I have gone looking for houses.
Syosset has alot of immigrants from china, s.korea & some indians too, but they are educated (and came here LEGALLY) unlike the border hopping lowlifes who hang out all day and night here in Westbury.
Sorry I had to let out some steam...
When we were house hunting in LI last year I was a bit surprised in seeing Syosset having such a high percentage of East Asians. We used to live in Forest Hills and watched it slowly become more Asian. On the plus side your school district's performance will improve making your neighborhood more desirable although athletics will suffer.

Thats a really racist remark that athletics will suffer.......

Lol people are sooooooo sensitive. Holy crap! The thing is, nobody minded the comment that the influx of Asians will improve school district ratings. Lol because it's true! Generally speaking, Asians emphasize scholastics over athletics. It is what it is.

When you see those guys hanging around by the bodegas how can you tell which ones are legal immigrants and which are illegal?
