SilverBullet,
There are not that many people astute to know that Cuomo, as HUD secretary under Clinton was the singulary most responsible person for the housing crisis.
Despite the fact that he was well aware that forcing banks to give billions in mortgages to people who would default on them (he not only admitted to it, but bragged about it during several press conferences that are well documented on youtube) he knew that when everything fell apart, he could blame it on the 'evil banks' as many uninformed people had already been conditioned to believe that all the world's evils were caused by greedy capitalists.
As an added bonus, there are also archived videos of interviews with then ACORN lawyer/activist Obama bragging about how they would send members of their group to lenders homes to threaten and intimidate them and their families into giving home mortgages to people who had no ability to make their payments.
Anyone who doubts this is welcome to view the videos for themself.

Please. Sell this nonsense elsewhere. No one, no agency, no department of the government forced a single bank to give a single mortgage to a single borrower knowing they would be defaulted on. Your interpretation of all the YouTube videos in the world won't change that. But you probably know that and are just another cheating, lying, ethically challenged political partisan who will make any statement to further their cause.

What interpretation? The video shows Cuomo openly admitting that he forced banks to give loans to people who would not have qualified for those loans based on financial information alone. If they couldn't qualify based on their income and assets - they could not afford it.

I have heard that same complaint numerous times, and you know, its really your own fault.
First of all, people in general have become too lazy and are jeapordizing their right to vote. When's the last time, if ever, you voted in a primary? If you're unhappy with your choice in the general election, get out and vote in the primary to see the person you'd like, be on the ballot in the general election.
When I vote in the primary, its a ghost town, nobody shows up. But then these same no-shows complain about the same old people in the general election.
With a few exceptions, most career politicians are drunk with power and could care less about their constituents. People vote for a name the know, have no idea what their REAL position is, and spend no time educating themselves. Have you seen the numerous interviews of people who couldn't even name the vice president?
Go vote in the primary, vote against the incumbent, and get their name off the ballot in the general election!

Give it up, he's one of those people who believe the moon landing was faked in a studio somewhere, LOL!
A clueless person who denies facts presented to him and refuses to even consider them.

The only "forcing" done by the government was to force banks to cease discriminating. The banks agreed to a settlement that did lower standards for a limited number of buyers which created free-for-all atmosphere in the financial community. Bankers collected huge bonuses for placing large amounts of loans and bundled and then sold off all those loans they had granted without adequate standards. A win-win for the large institutions and their management.

Is New York winning or is New York losing?

How can anyone in their right mind possibly think that New York is doing ok right now? We are losing, we need changes ... and Rob Astorino is the one who has the will to make those changes that will make New York a better place to live, work, and do business in.

Cuomo's gotta go, it's as simple as that. END THE STATUS CUOMO

So you are saying the original problem was banks choosing to deny minorities loans even though they met all the requirements (Income, assets, employment, etc.)?

That's very different from what Cuomo was saying. He was saying the standards themselves were the problem and the STANDARDS needed to be lowered for the groups of people who had less mortgage approvals. The standard were lowered. That's the issue IMHO.

Are you suggesting the banks should only have used the new lower standards for certain ethnicities? Wouldn't that be descriminatory?
