The first check was just mailed out you did not have to apply. I did not even realize it was going out and it was a bit funny when one women was asking at train platform if anyone else got the check. When half the folk had no clue what she was talking about she realized she just told folks roughly how much she makes and she found out roughly other folks make a lot more.
Or they were renters, or didn't have kids, lots of people didn't get that check and for many it had nothing to do with income.

In today's mail, I received a check for the "Property Tax Freeze Credit"

The explanation was about the local govt. or school district staying under the states 2% property tax cap.

were a resident of New York State for the entire year,
claimed at least one child under age 17 as a dependent,
had New York State adjusted gross income (line 33 of your Form IT-201) between $40,000 and $300,000, and
had a New York State liability after credits that was zero or greater.

So other folks were laughing at her $295,000 income?
i found it interesting that this credit was limited to people with children under age 17. The NY state legislature believes that people with children in college and senior citizens did not deserve this $350 tax credit ? Who dreams this stuff up ?

I think the logic behind it is families with kids have the most expenses and therefore need the most relief.

Cuomo lied... never happened before. He used the checks to buy the soccer mom vote, no worries it's all a game of three card monte. He shifts from one to the other and in the end the cards are all the same.
