how was it only 10 days? We heard about 80 cases in that month. Yes, each case is different but 9 out of 10 cases in Nassau county are DWI cases.....so they all sound the same!

I don't know but it was the minimum and if now I recall correctly I was able to be excused the following 2 days they held the rest of them.

Ok this just happened to me. I forgot to call Thursday night because I was caught up at work and apparently, I was suppose to go in yesterday (Friday). I'm a bit nervous...

Easiest thing don't fill out the questionnaire when it comes in the mail and you don't have to worry about serving/missing jury duty.

Nothing happens. But rest assured next time around you will get a notice to show in person to serve jury duty (versus the chance of calling in).

If you are unable to attend due to medical reasons you can get out of it with a doctors note. But they may call on you again in the future. That happened to me. So i took the same note I used the first time and went to Jurors office over at the Dennison building and spoke to the jury duty supervisor herself and explained why I could perform jury duty and gave her my doctors note and she removed me from the pool.
