Several things going on that just seem all too coincidental. The NCPD seems to be taking it's sweet time while crime keeps going up in the area. The gas station robberies just became fatal, as News 12 reported, there was a murder at the BP Gas station just over the border in Jericho on Jericho Turnpike. Gas station worker fatally shot in Jericho - News 12 Long Island

The schools are getting robbed as well.
Break-Ins At Westbury Schools

And even the LIRR, on Tuesday, said service was running on a normal weekend schedule west of Hicksville in the afternoon, yet the trains that served Westbury never came as other trains just breezed by, even though the signs said "on time" and there were announcements that repeated that and service was restored west of Hicksville on the Huntington branch. After 90 minutes of waiting, eventually a train stopped. Then later that night, the Westbury train never came at Jamaica, they never called the track or said it was cancelled. And of course Ronkonkoma, Babylon, Long Beach, etc trains came and went on time. Another train, a half hour later, was shown on the board as stopping at Westbury, but then as the doors closed at Carle Place, it was announced the next stop was Hicksville. I had to use the emergency intercom to communicate with the conductor, who said we weren't scheduled to stop at Westbury, next stop Hicksville even after I told her the train before us never came! The engineer must've overheard us and did stop at Westbury.
Then today they never even had a pathway cleared at the station and everyone crossing the street from the Village Lot had to climb over these mounds of snow! Is this retribution from Cuomo/NY State for fighting the casino?

It just seems kind of odd that the LIRR would restore service and then have so many trains skipping Westbury. Then again I remember after Sandy when the Ronkonkoma Line was restored...they skipped Westbury and we were left without any train service, while trains passed by. This is akin to a half empty bus just driving by the bus stop that you are waiting at.
Kinda annoyed me more than anything NICE has ever done.

Wait...so now you're wondering if there's a conspiracy specifically against Westbury?

Westbury LIRR will never get hourly service like the Babylon line does during rush hour.Logistics will not support it. Ridership because of convenient location along Sunrise Hwy. brings most riders to those stations that is why the Babylon line has more service. Ridership there is high. Not enough people that live around the Westbury station use that station. When they see tickets sales down they decrease service.

Friend that just retired from LIRR told me this the other day.

If you lived there now you would think the same thing as well. That area has been going downhill a lot lately.

Thing is ticket sales seem to be up, there are always lines at the machines. Oh well...just another reason I need to move somewhere else with better train service.

No, I sure wouldn't. I'm a rational grown up with a decent head on my shoulders.

They might be up but just not enough to increase service probably. Have never had need to look at schedule but if they saw that enough people were coming & going from the station they would add stops to & from there.

The engineer would NEVER make a stop at a station because one passenger said the previous train never came. He must have been told from higher up to stop at westbury. The rest of his schedule would have been off. Stopping unscheduled for a non emergency is something no engineer would do. Anyway, glad you got to your stop.
