I respectfully disagree. I grew up there. Government assisted housing in those buildings on Newbridge Rd next to what used to be the old Friendlys turned Mosque. Plus you've got the Halal deli/ grocery store. Bash me all you want, but I thought that erecting that Mosque months after 9/11 AND barricading it the way they did gave everyone the impression that they weren't there to be neighborly.
My comment was an inside joke. You didn't do anything to dispute it though. Your second opinion was just bizarre. It does show your true colors though.
I don't hide how I feel. Bellmore took a nosedive. And I'm one of those people who isn't going to be a hypocrite. I don't like when neighborhoods change for the worse. And it did. Beltagh Ave looks run down, Bellmore Ave is gross, Newbridge looks lousy. The home values say it all. Whatever I say on here I'd say to a person's face. When people are building a mosque and putting up 12 foot chain link with grass weave in it, that's ugly and just off putting. What's to hide with that fencing? Give that town 10 more years. It'll be like New Hyde Park.

I think what was meant is that it is a largely Muslim populated town, which is why it's desirable for Muslims.
Another silly comment. Can you show me stats to back up your claim that NHP is largely Muslim populated because I can't find it. Regardless did you check their median household income? Lastly, even if it was "largely Muslim", why would that make a town downtrodden? Only in LI....

Never said anything nasty about it. But for you to go off on me because of a true stat is crazy. Next you're going to tell me South Merrick isn't predominantly Jewish. I think it's laughable that you pointed out that NHP is highly sought after as a counterpoint to the other poster's comments about Muslims in NHP. As if a Muslim community and highly sought after neighborhood are mutually exclusive? Simple fact is that cohorts tend to seek each other out. Nothing wrong with that fact. Only on Long Island can you get a poster like you feigning offense when you are residing in a vacuum.
